Pancreatitis

Is the inflammation of the pancreas. The inflammation can be sudden (acute) or gradual (chronic). Acute pancreatitis usually involves a single "attack", after which the pancreas returns to its normal state. Severe acute pancreatitis may compromise the patient's life. In chronic pancreatitis, permanent damage occurs to the pancreas and their role, which often leads to fibrosis (scarring). (PANCREATITIS).
