Pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE)


Is the result of obstruction of pulmonary blood flow from a piston, in most cases (95%) of the deep venous system of the lower extremities (large proximal veins) and lower frequency of the pelvis. Other sources may include: vena cava, right heart chambers, left atrium (atrial fibrillation), heart valves (endocarditis), right ventricle (necrosis) and upper limbs. Are rare tumors formed by the piston, air, fibrin, amniotic fluid, bone marrow and foreign bodies. (TROMBOENBOLISMO PULMONAR).
